Wright Family Foundation Donates $100,000 to Advance Local Healthcare
The Brazosport Health Foundation received a gift from the Wright Family Foundation for $100,000. The large gift will be used to support community healthcare as part of the $5 million Cornerstone of Caring Capital Campaign, assisting with the $15.25 million campus upgrade for Brazosport Regional Health System.
The Wright Family Foundation is a private family foundation established in 1997 to provide funding in support of community, education, health, social needs and the arts. Initial funding for the foundation was provided with a generous donation from SI Group, Inc. (formerly Schenectady International, Inc.). The Wright Family Foundation supports projects where SI Group is located in the United States.
“We are pleased to support BRHS with this gift and to assist with the total campus upgrade that ensures our community has local quality medical services,” said Gary Crabtree, Operations Director of SI Group in Freeport.
Bruce Meyers, M.D., and Jacque Cundieff, Co-Chairs of the Cornerstone of Caring Capital Campaign, received the check from Gary Crabtree. “This is a wonderful testament to and acknowledgement of the incredible staff work that is performed day in and day out at our hospital,” remarked Jacque Cundieff.
Brazosport Health Foundation is seeking donations from other foundations, corporate industry partners and local community members to help raise the remaining $2,000,000 of the campaign. As a non-profit organization, donor support helps Brazosport Regional invest in advanced technology, equipment and facilities to provide each patient with excellent and compassionate care.
